Found: The oldest thing in the universe

Sorry, but I saw this headline on Yahoo homepage and couldn't help myself.

Hip to be square

Obama heads to ‘Daily Show’ days before Stewart’s rally

BT comment: I guess it's one of the signs of the modern culture that the president has to be hip or cool. That he(or someday she) has to be part of the pop culture. When I was younger, I too may have fallen for such a ridiculous premise. Coming of age in the 70's I would've voted the Cheech/Chong ticket without even giving it a second thought. And therin lies the problem. Is anyone thinking?

Bill Clinton was the first president to really sell himself to the youth vote via MTV and the Arsenio Hall Show. Whether it be wailing on his sax or discussing what kind of underwear he wears or if he inhaled or not. It was all supposed to make it seem like he was one of us. And now we have Obama following in those same self seeking footsteps. The irony here is that neither of these guys is like anyone I know(for starters, both are millionaires). If I was an empty headed twenty something, yeah, I would think he was like me. But now that I am a man I have put away childish things. I don't want my president to be like me necessarily. I want him(or her) to be better than me. As virtuous as I strive to be, they should be better. With higher ideals and morals. Someone smarter than me. More humble than myself. Sober-minded. Faithful to his own wife. Not discussing things openly that should be resigned to private or personal conversations. Prudent. Discerning. Not so tied to his own ego. Where personal integrity is of utmost importance.

I didn't see this in Bill Clinton and I fail to see it in Barack Obama. With all of his many failing(as well as his virtues) I never saw an ounce of pretense in George W Bush. Recently it was discovered that someone in the Jerry Brown campaign had called his opponent Meg Whitman a "whore". As far I as can tell, the last two democrat presidents are the two biggest ho's I have ever seen. The have no virtue, no morals, no core beliefs and would do anything to retain power and prestige. But the thing they do most... they lie. Like friggin' rugs, they lie. There is no truth found in them. This is not a partisan rant, but an objective observation. To Mr. Clinton, DNA is a bitch. To Mr. Obama, well, most recently I would have to ask if he knows what the hell "shovel ready" means. I don't have itching ears, so don't go scratching 'em with your platitudinous fibs.

This standard applies not only to the nation's highest office. It should apply to all other elected offices. Heck, it should apply to any and all with whom we have to deal. Be it your business partner, your auto mechanic, your banker, your spouse, etc. Democrats strive to ever lower the bar. Most of the people I know strive to raise or exceed it's height. And though we may all fail at times, it is the embracing of what is good and right and perfect that makes us who we are. May we press on to a higher calling and more lofty ideals and not sink into the cultural morass of mediocrity assuaged by deceit.

Chuck said it best!

My response to Obama as well as to all progressives. Paws off my liberty, my freedom, my rights, my money, my food, my cooking oil, my salt shaker, my light bulbs, my tax dollars, my internet, my speech, my car, my appliances, my faith, my heat, my air conditioning, my gasoline, my job, my health insurance, my Constitution....
Basically, get your stinkin' paws off my country!

Lenin, I mean Lennon's 70th birthday

October 9, 2010 would have been John Lennon's 70th birthday. I still remember where I was the night he was shot. I was at a Springsteen concert at the Spectrum where the Boss played one of many soldout nights. He and the E Street Band even did Twist and Shout for an encore. I didn't yet know that Lennon was dead until we all got back to the car and turned on the radio. It was a sad couple of days. Everytime I heard Lennon or Beatles songs on the radio my eyes would well up. But that was then, this is now.

Nothing I write here is meant as a personal attack on John Lennon. He did nothing that warranted being gunned down in cold blood by a lunatic outside of his own home. He was an icon, a husband and a father. But his impact on the culture went far beyond his music. Actally, his music was the vehicle which imparted his radical views to the masses.

Early in the Beatles surge to fame, Lennon stated that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus Christ. Quite a radical statement to make for a guy who just wanted to make music. As it turns out, John held a world view that was antithetical to Christianity and traditional American values. Later he would craft a song that would encapsulate succinctly his view of how he hoped things should or would be. The song, "Imagine".

Couched in a maudlin melody, he asked us to imagine what life would be like without God, heaven, eternal consequences, national sovereignty, core beliefs worth dying for, or personal possessions. Now keep in mind, John Lennon was a millionaire. Millions made off albums purchased by god fearing, freedom loving, capitalist Americans. The country that fought along side England to defeat Nazi Germany. The country he chose to make his home(possibly in part due to the high tax rate in England). He asked us to embrace the idea of a "brotherhood of man". Which at this writing I think the feminists would have changed to "people or persons", not "man".

Words mean things. Whether put to a melody or recorded in a periodical or novel. They convey thoughts, feelings and ideas. Now if Lennon just recorded songs to amass his millions, it would fly in the face of his lyrics. Asking us to imagine no possessions all the while accruing a fortune. Like all Socialists, he was an elitist. Telling us how to live, yet he himself living a life of luxury. I don't begrudge him that, just don't preach a life of self denial from a luxury New York high rise to us down below.

So while John Lennon will remain a music icon for the ages, I have grown out of the idealism of the 60's and early 70's. Had Lennon lived longer, maybe he would have changed his ideology. Maybe not. I still like listening to the Beatles but was never a huge John Lennon fan. In fact, I didn't like any of the lads on their own as much as I did collectively. It's remains a sad ending to a talented musician. I however have lived long enough to find what is true. That I cannot live without God(specifically Jesus). That I love the United States of America and respect her borders. I like working hard for the living I eke out in this life so that I can buy the things that I need and sometimes want. I like to think that my core beliefs are of such value, that if called upon to do so, I would give my life for them. Finally, I believe in heaven. It is my destination and my home. And because there is heaven there is hell too. Life has it's consequences. Not so much "Instant Karma", but reaping and sowing. Not come upppins' by an impersonal universe, but a face to face judgement by a righteous God. I sometimes wonder if any of these thoughts raced through John Lennon's mind before his life slipped from this earth.

Anyway... there is no doubt that he was born 70 years ago into a time where he had a chance to change the world. And he did. We are all of us born into the time that God chooses. And just like a boy from Liverpool did, we too can change the world. Maybe not the whole world, maybe just our little piece of it. Happy birthday John.

'The Flintstones' cartoon turns 50

Yabba dabba doo, Happy 50 to you!

As a kid, and as an adult, I still love the old cartoons. I believe this was the first cartoon to play on prime time TV. I can still remember watching it on our old black and white set. It reminds me(as so many things do) of a simpler time. Finding out later that The Flinstones was an homage to one of my other all time favorite shows, The Honeymooners, only made the show more endearing to me. I stil hear Fred's voice im my head on those days when I have to go into the office and it's quitting time. "Yabba dabba doo!" Pretty much says it all. Thank you Hanna and Barbera.

O'Donnell wrestles with the past

An old file photo has surfaced of Christine O'Donnell's former boyfriend who supposedly exposed her to a brief foray into the practice of witchcraft. Females who devote themselves to the black arts are called witches. However, men who are involved in this same practice are called wizards. This former boyfriend's identity remains anonymous. All that is known, is that much like Seinfeld's character "The Maestro", he had a staunch preference to be referred to as "The Grand Wizard".

Salivary Projection

I really must be getting old. Things that didn't bother me or that I never gave a second thought now consume me at times. Obviously politics and the culture being one of those things. Or two of those things. Not nearly as dire or contentious, but there is the matter of spitting.

I love baseball and especially the Phillies. Watching game after game since April I have since noticed how much ball players spit. Not that this is a revelation of any sort or something new to the sport itself. Players in other sports spit. After baseball would probably be hockey. Not so much football or almost never in basketball. Like I said, ball players have always been hocking and it never really bothered me. Now I notice it most of the time. One, after the other, after the other. It's a wonder the base path isn't a muddy mess. I realize that guys who chew have to spit but this is any and all comers.

As a young man I used to practice this vile habit. Truth be told, there are still times when I go outside that something rises up in me and I, almost reflexively, spit. I can't tell you why or what for. I just do. Once. Maybe twice and I'm done. But I have noticed that I am more self conscious about it. I sometimes steal a glance to see if my neighbors are watching or wait until I am in some obstructed view. Gross, I know. I can remember guys from when I was younger who would spit repetitively to the point where a small puddle would form. I would think, spitting is okay but this is overkill.

Before I wrap this up, I have one personal loogie story to tell. I was in sixth grade and at a weeknight basketball practice when my friend Bruce and I had to go to the boys restroom. We were joking around when he spit at me and it landed on my leg. Incensed, I retaliated with a hocker of my own. I couldn't have done it again if I tried a million times. I spit and it hit him right in the eye. Eyelid to be exact. It was priceless. Or as Seinfeld said "That was one magic loogie". Of course I ran and he proceeded to chase me outside where I turned my ankle and fell. He caught up to me and proceeded to pummel me a few times and then graciously helped my back into the gymnasium. Forty years later and I remember it like it was yesterday. I wonder if Bruce still remembers?

So as I get older, I find this habit increasingly disgusting, yet still indulge once in awhile myself with some degree of guilt. Even when I go to the dentist I am aware of the act of spitting when told to do so by the hygienist. As for my sports heroes... I will continue to watch the games. I will continue notice the excessive projection of saliva. Is it part of the game? Maybe. Is it a guy thing? I certainly hope so. I guess there are worse things. Like women spitting? A horrid thought.

Which is witch?

Recently there has been quite a stir over Delaware's Republican canidate for the Senate, Christine O'Donnell. She admitted some years ago that she had a brief encounter with the practice of witchcraft. Since then she has converted to Christianity and pursues a fruitful relationship with God in her christian walk. Not only has she recanted any current involvement in questionable religious practices(liberals always question true christianity, but in this case are strangely mute concerning Ms. O'Donnell's conversion)but she is also a staunch conservative.
In order to give equal time to her accusers, or equal slime as it were, here we have a file photo of the House majority leader Nancy Pelosi aka The Wicked Witch of the Left. To date, the speaker has not renounced her dabbling in the dark arts of Socialism. Unlike the "Oz" witch who was done in by mere water, hopefully the witch Pelosi's speakership will melt in what will be a deluge of Tea this November and she can turn in the gavel for her broom once more. And you know where the flying monkeys come from.

A day of Faith, Hope, Charity

Finally after a week has passed I am getting around to recount the odyssey that was Glenn Beck's 8/28 "Restoring Honor" rally in Washington D.C.

I don't recall when it was that I first heard of the 8/28 rally to be held in our nation's capital. At the time it seemed like it was a long way off and that maybe I would go to it. After getting my feet wet by attending a Tea Party rally in Philly with Mr.V. earlier in the year it seemed like 8/28 would be right up my political alley. I was right, for the wrong reasons. It was up my alley, though not political. Actually it was quite devoid of anything partisan or political. It was however, a historical gathering of some 500,000(estimates vary depending on your POLITICAL leanings) decent, like-minded people who love America as it was founded. And, to honor those who fight and die to protect our precious freedoms.

As the summer began to wane and the date of the rally drew near, Mr.V. and I discussed our possible attendance in D.C. and started to balk at the possibility of going. It's far. I'm tired. How much will it cost to get there? How early do I have to get up? If it were more of a political thing maybe I would be more inclined to go. Thank God the independence of our country over 200 years ago didn't depend on a couple of marshmellows like us. Enter, Dudley.

Now Dud, as he is affectionately known, lives in the late Ted Kennedy's state of Taxachusettes. He is married with four sons and lives further away than we two, not so swingin' bachelors. Not living up to his nickname, he was anything but, as he threw down the gauntlet before us saying that he "felt like he was supposed to be there". Also, he wanted to be a good example to his sons. Putting action to his words. Not wanting to be considered "Sunshine Patriots", Mr. V. and I were on board.

Four thirty came early that Saturday morning. Awake before the clock went off I laid there waiting for Dud to call which was my signal to get it into gear. He would be picking me up in about thirty minutes, a quick stop at Wawa for some grub to take with us, and then off to pick up Mr.V. enroute to D.C. Accompanying us for the day were two of Dud's sons. The middle two to be exact. Both in their mid to late teens. Two fine young men who as it turns out, I was proud to share the day with.

As we trekked down I-95 and the sun arose the trip became more real and less surreal. We're really doing this. Glad to not be a marshmellow, I began to revel in the comradery that men, that good friends share. Reliving past memories, telling stories we've recounted countless times, and discussing the pressing issues of the day. All in between mouthfuls of "Munchkins" graciously provided by Mr.V.

Finally arriving at the Metro and after some minor confusion over our ticket purchase, we were on our way. Now I have never been to Washington D.C. in my life, so this was all new territory for me. My junior high class trip was to D.C., but for some reason that I can't remember, I was not in attendace. Not today though. Today was a day to stand up(literally for atleast 3 hours) and be counted.

We got off the Metro at our stop and headed out on foot for about a mile. Not even 10 o'clock in the morning, it was already hot out. The closer we got to our destination, the thicker the crowds of pedestrians became. All heading towards the Lincoln Memorial. Upon our sweaty arrival the first order of business was at hand. Where are the porta pottys? Even as we attended one of the most basic human functions there was friendly banter between those waiting their turn. There was talk of the close call win by the Phillies the night before. Then there was good natured humor found in Dud leaving the line I was in, to what he thought was a faster moving queue, only to be left still in line long after my busines was done.

Now it's off to find our place in history. Over a loudspeaker you could here Martin Luther King Jr.'s voice and in the D.C. heat I got a chill. This was afterall the anniversary marking his "I Have A Dream" speech given on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Powerful and ominous as his words resonated all around the mall. And yes, this is where the handful of detractors were camped out. They carried signs and spouted mostly incoherent pablum. Harmless in their approach, they were mildly amusing, sometimes annoying. My feelings for them veered towards a kind of pity. Pity in that they seemed to be funcitoning in some bizarre comspiratorial haze. But, this is America where freedom of speech is a right. There is no law against stupid(sorry, but I can't think of another word). Anyway... onward we went.

Arriving at the mall, we were shoulder to shoulder in the morning heat. With intermittent movement we searched for a spot to spend the next three hours. Eventually we moved off to the left(not the Left) which was about two thirds of the way back from the Lincoln Memorial. Dropping our backpacks we commenced listening to what was transpiring on the historic steps. We couldn't even see the jumbotron screens from where we were without the aid of binoculars which Mr.V. had brought. But every word uttered from the steps could be heard everywhere. With no prior knowledge of who would be appearing at the event other than Glenn Beck and Alveda King(MLK's niece) we were treated to some nice surprises. Personally, I would have to say that the highlight for me was the awarding of one of three medals to Albert Pujols. Pujols was presented with the medal for Honor award. In his brief speech he was very up front about his faith in Christ. For me it was only one part of the days messages, but a recurring one. A call to faith as a country and as individuals. As a christian(I say that because many different faiths were in attendance) to me it meant my relationship to Jesus Christ. Am I faithful to Him? Am I obedient to Him? Do I love Him? Is He more important than friends, family and country? I guess in the end I thought, is He more important than me? And if so, what does that require of me? And if not, still, what does that require of me? For now, the specifics are personal. Scripturally it kept coming back to me... "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."(II Chronicles 7:14). What I, what we, need to do, and what He will do.

Before the event officially ended, we packed up our stuff and started to the rear of the mall. We were amazed that as we kept walking the crowd went on and on. Thinking that we were near the back of the event, here the throngs extended well beyond where we were standing. It was encouraging and uplifting as was the event as a whole. Not only were there people here with strong, traditional values, they were here inforce to be heard. To be counted.

We finally arrived back at the Metro station which was much more crowded than when we boarded in the morning. It seemed as if the day was far spent, but it was really only early afternoon. We rode the Metro back to the parking garage and headed back towards Philly almost without incident. I say almost because somewhere on I-95 before wh hit Delaware the car in front of us slammed on it's brakes for no apparent reason. As he fishtailed and skidded to the left we thought we were clear of any potential accident. Then, as fast as he veered left he had spun back into our lane. Thanks to some heads up manuevers by Dud we managed to proceed without the exchange of insurance information. Of course, we dissected the incident for the next 20 minutes regarding the how's and why's.

Dropped off at Mr.V's car by Dud, Mr.V and I went back to my place for a beer, a hoagie and a cheesesteak, and watched the end of the Phillies game. My dogs were killing me and it felt great to take my sneakers off. All in all, it was a great day. A sense of tired satisfaction was present. Not that I did anything all that strenuous other than be counted. Sure I had to get up early on a Saturday. I had to walk and/or stand for 4 or 5 hours. It was hot and I was tired. But all of this was nothing compared to what our Founding Fathers had done so long ago. Pledging their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor. And many of them lost their lives and their fortunes with all still retaining their honor. Today I thank God for those do the same. The men and women and the families who volunteer to preserve and protect America and the Consitution. Who fight for our liberties so that we might enjoy a life of peace and freedom. This was really the focus of the days event. To honor and support SOWF(Special Operations Warrior Foundation). Our fellow citizens who are the epitome of honor. Who do what most of us cannot or would not do. We salute you.

In the days that followed I was able to absorb more of what took place at the rally via audio and video clips from Glenn Beck's TV and radio shows. In retrospect I am so grateful that I went and have to thank Dud for being the catalyst in my deciding to go. I realize how blessed I am to have the friends that I have. He and Mr.V are two of my oldest and dearest friends. Also, by going to the rally I am reassured that I am not alone in my beliefs and in my love for this country. Finally, I am convinced that I was born in this time, in this place by God's providence(As are we all). That He has a purpose and a plan for me. I may sometimes miss it. And like Jonah, I may flee from it. But I know that true fulfillment can only come from doing what I am supposed to do. Not always what I want to do. 8/28 was a case in point. I really didn't want to get up early on my day off to go to Washington D.C. and sweat with aching feet around some 500,000 strangers. But I did, and I went, and I'm glad and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It's a memory that will be with me until I breathe my last.

"And now abide faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity"

Atlas Shrugged... I'm just scratching my head

Face it. Democrats(and Obama)just don't want you to have your own money. They're playing this ridiculous shell game with the soon to expire Bush tax cuts. Saying that possibly they should only expire on the rich because they wouldn't spend the money but the less fortunate among us would. The so-called "rich" are the ones who create jobs and pay most of the taxes in this country. And whose business is it anyway how the rich(or anyone else for that matter)spend their own money?! They talk about "targeted tax cuts". Smoke and mirrors. Maybe urban legend? I never knew someone who received one. It all just helps to promote the political fulcrum of class warfare whereby liberals retain power. People acutally buy into this and fail to understand, when the rich go away, jobs go away. The American Dream goes away. Freedom goes away. Prosperity and liberty go hand in hand, as do tyranny and bondage. Afterall, where is the incentive to succeed when the government stands poised to take it all away?

By your request G

A song that was recorded during the time when the Beatles union began to fracture. While the tune is somewhat buoyant, it is indicative of descension or disagreement in the ranks just by it's lyrics. I guess a song that reflects many human relationships in various stages. I would think that the song could've just as easily been called "Yes and No". But, "Hello Goodbye" indicates movement and direction. Coming and going. Not a stationary standoff of opposites. Still, a good song and a good video. A bit of sadness though as the lads are waving goodbye in the suits they wore early on in the band's career. Like bidding farwell to innocence or a time that you can no longer return to. Sad, but necessary sometimes. And sometimes you don't have to say goodbye. You just have to say timeout and then hello again. Sadly, this never happened with the Beatles and then it was too late. May that not be the case for any of us.

From possibly the greatest movie soundtrack

This song is from a movie about an era that reminds of an era in my own life. I guess that is what alot of movies(and songs) do. We remember the time we saw a movie about another time. Two different era's. One memory.

Mr. Soul

Hard to believe that this song is as old as me. But unlike myself, it seems to get better with time.

As Mexican as bullfighting, burritos, and Chevrolet

GM to Build New Vehicle at Plant in Mexico
Will invest $500 million at plant in Ramos Arispe

Yes, GM, so generously bailed out with the hard earned money of American taxpayers is building a new car plant. This means as Joe Biden so precisely stated... "A three letter word, JOBS!". Unfortunately, these jobs will be going to Mexico. Our money which the government took from us to bailout a failed car company is going to build a new car plant on foreign soil. Where is the outcry? Where is the media? Where are the unions?

Though with headlines like this I may be rethinking my stance on securing our southern border. Just as illegal aliens come across the U.S. border seeking employment, maybe this can work both ways. Maybe the unemployed masses who helped to fund the GM bailout can go south of the border to get a job at this new car plant. Of course Mexico's standards for entering their country are far more stringent than those of their neighbor to the north. I doubt if caught, that these tresspassers will be rewarded with free healthcare, amnesty, or be able to send any of the peso's earned back home to feed their families.

So yes, the Obama regime is creating jobs just as they promised. It's just too bad they are not in the U.S. We can only hope that there will arise a need for illegal Americans to sneak into Mexico to do the jobs other Mexicans just won't do. Ironically, then maybe those on the other side of the border would join the outcry in this country to build the fence and protect the border.

Stimuwhat?!

Senate approves jobs bill to stop teacher layoffs

By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer Andrew Taylor, Associated Press Writer – 2 hrs 26 mins ago
WASHINGTON – Congress is moving rapidly just weeks before the start of the school year to speed billions of dollars in emergency education aid to states in hopes of reversing the layoffs of tens of thousands of teachers.

Some $10 billion in aid to school districts is set to flow after a 61-39 Senate vote Thursday — to be followed quickly by a House vote next week — in hopes that it will come in time for many school districts to reconsider teacher layoffs.

Thursday's vote was a hard-earned but partial victory for Democrats and President Barack Obama. Advocates said it could save the jobs of up to 300,000 teachers, police and other public workers.

BT comment: While more than half of the almost $800 billion allocated by the Obama regime for economic stimulus sits idle(that's our money), these thieves have picked another $26 billion from the public's pockets to "save" public sector jobs. Jobs that were supposedly going to be saved by the money in the stimulus package. I don't know which is more insatiable. Their lust for power or their unappeasable greed. And if you oppose any additional confiscation of your hard earned money for pet projects or special interests you are labeled a hater. I for one am tired of being robbed in broad daylight with the stroke of a pen and then being told that I am a heartless fiend.
I want to ask where the rest of the stimulus money is and when or how it will be spent. But I am pretty sure that I already know the answer. I believe it is a re-election slush fund for Obama and the Democrats that will flow in torrents to buy and keep power. Sure, I could be wrong. Either way, the money will be misallocated and still the question looms. Why is not being spent now for the very things it was originally intended and promised to avert by Obama?

The wisdom of Norm

The Progressive Pachyderm

Today Mr. Obama's second Supreme Court Nominee was confirmed to a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land. A progressive and a liberal, Ms. Kagan will predictably judge left, to far left while all but ignoring the Constitution. It is certainly the president's perogative to nominate whomever he sees fit. Or unfit in this case. However, it is those who cast their votes to approve or deny the nomination that may be the bigger part of the problem. Enter, Lindsey Graham.

Now I expect progressive liberals to vote... well, liberally. Anything to advance their agenda. They can couch or spin any way they choose, but in the end they are going to vote for anything that advances their Socialist agenda. I get that. But, it is the limp-wristed RINO's like Lindsey Graham that truly irk me. And in the past, Arlen Spector. I'm sure that Senator Graham was quite taken with the nominee's masculine persona that he could only dream of one day possessing himself. All the while believing that his constituents aren't intelligent or nuanced enough to understand his reasoning for voting to confirm Kagan. Commonly referred to by me as "John Mccain's B*tch" (no offense to the female gender), this man is a latent lackey of liberalism. I wish that he, like Arlen Spector, would come out of the closet and freely profess his progressive proclivities and go to the other side of the aisle.

There were a few other RINO's (Collins and Snow of Maine) who predictably voted for Kagan also. They irk me too, but not near as much as Graham. I guess, worse than a man who sounds like a chick, is a Republican who votes like a liberal Democrat. It doesn't help that Lindsey Graham is both. Let this be his last term as a Republican and may he go the way of that trailblazing RINO, Arlen Spector in the next election cycle.

The shrill, the thrill and the spill

Oil Spill Timeline from RightChange on Vimeo.

It is a big deal to be condemned by the words of another. It is even more momentous to be condemned by one's own words or actions. Or, in the case of Obama, his inactions. Just as there are jobs that may never come back due to this president's socialist economic policies, there may be habitats and peoples generational ways of life that may never return in our lifetime, if ever. All that we can do is make sure that he, and never again someone like him, returns to lead our country towards the abyss.

For those with buyers remorse...

I didn't vote these people in, but I will certainly be voting them out come November 2010 and 2012. This video is for those who believed the lies, the promises, the rhetoric. To those who may have been suffering from some sort of white guilt, had Bush fatigue, or just really wanted true change. Well change has come and it is destroying our country. Or, as Obama put it, "fundamentally transforming" it. Chicago style politics is being played out on the national stage right now and it is brutal, deceitful and destructive. Add to it a strong element of Socialism and you have a heartless, controlling, bureaucracy. A government that decides who will get healthcare(ultimately who gets to live), who gets money, and coming soon, who gets to say what in a public forum. The only two things left are our right to free speech and the right to bear arms. Once they are gone there will be no legal resistance. There will be no voice. There will be no freedom.

Hopefully we will not just be voting something out, but also something in as well in the coming elections. In the meantime get educated. Expose yourself to something other than the mainstream media. Listen to talk radio, watch the Fox News Channel, learn America's history, and read our founding documents. Never have I understood more that knowledge is power. And also, that freedom isn't free. It's time for change, again. Change rooted in humility and adherence to the principles that this country was originally founded on and that made America that shining city on a hill. Hopefully it's not too late, because if it is, there is no where else to go. Rise up!

Speaking truth to myth

NAACP resolution condemns racism in tea party

By HEATHER HOLLINGSWORTH, Associated Press Writer Heather Hollingsworth, Associated Press Writer – 49 mins ago
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Leaders of the country's largest civil rights organization accused tea party activists on Tuesday of tolerating bigotry and approved a resolution condemning racism within the political movement.

The resolution was adopted during the annual convention in Kansas City of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, spokesman Chris Fleming said. Tea party organizers disputed claims of racism and called on the NAACP to withdraw the resolution.

Debate was mostly closed to the public, but the final version "calls on the tea party and all people of good will to repudiate the racist element and activities within the tea party," said Hilary Shelton, director of the NAACP's Washington bureau.

BT comment: While they are at it, why doesn't the NAACP also move to condemn leprechauns, unicorns, Bigfoot, space aliens, the Lochness Monster, liberal tax and spending cuts... and come to think of it, any other thing on the planet that doesn't really exist. BUT, whatever they may do, they can not and will not address racism in there own organization or allah forbid, point one hypocritical finger at the cracker hating, race card playing Black Panthers. There is absolutely no proof that organized racism exists in Tea Party movement(the Tea Party is proud to have members of any race or color as it is based on principles not prejudices). There are always isolated incidences of bad behaviour to be found no matter where you look, but there hasn't even been one verifiable act of racism witnessed at any Tea Party event. This is right out of the "Rules for Radicals" handbook by Sol Olinsky. Falsely accuse your enemies of what you yourself are actually doing thereby silencing them while advancing your own agenda.

To peacefully disagree with this president purely on principle is and will be labeled as racism. As a citizen who wants their country and Constitution back is apparently hate speech and racism. To love the America you grew up in is passe'. To want those elected to actually adhere to the Constitution they swore to defend is archaic. To love God and His word is narrow minded and weak. Finally, to be silent in the midst of such accusations would just be plain wrong. Speak truth to power. On second thought, just speak truth(in love). It's your right. It's your country. It's your duty. Even if few listen, truth will draw it's own adhererants.

The man who fears no truths has nothing to fear from lies.

Only in(and out, and then back in) America

Imagine someone that you know or may have known in the past. A person who always shows up unannounced, or worse yet, uninvited. To do so once or twice might not be so bad. Imagine this person then breaking into your house. And, absurd as it may sound, they illegally entered to wash your dishes, do your laundry or cook your meals. Then the word gets out of how easy it is to access your residence and other people you don't know start coming in because you're such a pushover. These other people may or may not be of dubious character. But all of this would be irrelevant. Whether they tend to your home or not. Are they honest and upright or thugs? Do they do a good job or perform tasks that no one else would do? None of this matters. They entered your house without your permission which nullifies everything else that transpires after the fact. Then to top it off, if you did the same thing to them, they in turn would sue you, lock you up and accuse you of all kinds of contrived offenses.

This my friends is the American policy on illegal immigration. Operative word being "illegal". Don't forget it and don't omit it.

Best In Show-Tipper's Nipper

Forget that he invented(or claims to have)the internet. That the movie "Love Story" was supposedly about him and his recently estranged spouse Tipper. Or, that he has personally prospered from the biggest pseudo-scientific hoax ever perpetrated upon the human race since Columbus proved the earth is round. Finally, it appears that former VP, Al Gore, may be going out with a bang(pun intended).

Not to be out done by his former running mate, president, and unprosecuted rapist, William Jefferson Clinton. It appears that Mr. Global Warming himself may be forever know as the "crazed sex poodle". Not a moniker most of us would want to follow us into the annals of history. Still, it does help to dispel the connotation that Mr. Gore is "wooden". Or perhaps it only proves the point(wink, wink).

The case of Al Gore molesting a woman who was dispatched to his private hotel room for a massage brings a chuckle of incredulity to ones mind. It seems so implausible. Kind of like global warming. Yet unlike the preposterous apocalyptic weather predictions which could conceivably bankrupt our country, this would appear to be a less costly scenario to pursue. It all has to do with character. Unlike global warming, which the eco-terroists and environmentalist wackos try to turn into a moral cause, this really is a question of morality and decency.

Liberals are the ones who always claim to be for the little guy(or girl). Defending the downtrodden, the rights of women, the equality of racial rights. Yet their real life would indicate that this is purely political posturing. They dangle the race carrot in front of the black constituency to secure generational victim hood and support. Same for the poor. Different carrot, same end. Then for the women it is the promise of the perpetuation of legalized abortion. Yet to the former President Clinton and now former Vice President Gore, aside from their value as a formidable voting block, women are merely objects of their affections. Or should I say erections?

Since the alleged attackee was not seriously hurt or injured in the crazed canine sexcapade, there is a certain degree of levity to be found here(C'mon, we're talkin' Al Gore here). Unfortunately that was not the case for Juanita Broderick who had the lesser known and dubious pleasure of Bill Clinton's advances. Where this will all end is anyone's guess. Atleast for now it has neutered Mr. Gore from bloviating about his own unique spewing of sci-fi eco drivel. Maybe this will make people take a second and third look at Gore's theories on the end of the world as we know it. Or more importantly, it will encourage further scrutiny of the Democrat party and more specifically liberal progressives(as if there were much of a difference.) But like most everything else in Al Gore's pathetic tapestry of a life, of all the dogs for a man to be compared to... a poodle?! Quite lame.

Props to a Panther Brotha

Here meet King Samir Shabazz. Not his real or birth name, especially the "King" part. This is one of the leaders of the New Black Panthers. Or as I like to think of them, the muscle behind the Obama regime. Just as Hitler had his "Brown Shirts", Obama has his Panthers. Aside from a national military force, every leader with delusions of domination needs an intimidating presence locally. In the case of Commisar Obama we have here the sanctioned racism of the New Black Panthers.

Now the reason I'm giving this brotha props here is that in spite of his white hot(or is it black hot?) hate, I think he showed considerable restraint when confronted by such a lethal device as a movie camera. Not only that, but the person wielding said camera was a white man. A "cracker" if you will. Now I know that everybody is down on the brotha for saying how much he hates white people, hates crackers, hates cracker whore *****, and wants to kill cracker babies. But yet, he did not raise a hand(or billy club) to the harmless interviewer as he equated the club and camera as equally threatening.

If history has taught us anything, it's that broodish thugs like Shazam here, are basically cowards. Alot of bark, not too much bite. They like to stir up strife and division, but don't really like to get their hands too dirty(did you ever try to get out cracker blood from your racist fatigues?). But history is different now. The times are vastly different and dangerous. See, Shamwow has the unspoken authority of the Obama regime to back him up. If he didn't, he would be sharing a cell with some tattoed cracker right now as I am writing this. But, The Department of Justice under the leadership of Eric Holder dropped the voter intimidation case like the Phillies drop a lead in the ninth inning(still love my Phils). This isn't like letting a guy slide on parking ticket or a speeding violation. These are terroristic threats being made against a class of people based on color. Of course, it only counts when white hoods are part of the mix. Although, those same hoods helped some to get elected to Congress.(Rest in peace Robert Byrd.)According to the DOJ, they don't want to prosecute any cases where the defendant is black and the plantiff white. This would give these militant malcontents carte blanche(ironically blanche is French for white).

But back to Shampoo... Considering this piece of human debris, who speaks for no black people that I know personally, congrats for not spilling that guys head all over the sidewalk. Thanks from this cracker for telling us all how you really feel. Unlike your boss, Barack, who really struggles with the truth, let alone telling it. But just like your little anti-cracker tirade, we have everything that he says on video tape for future perusal. Words mean something and a picture is worth a thousand of them.

It was once said that "the pen is mightier than the sword". Present day, I guess the camera was mightier than the billy club. It kept you on your good behaviour before the election. But for how long after? Anyway... keep it real my brotha.

P.S. Brilliant use of the word "iota". You must have been waiting an eternity to use it in a sentence. To the untrained ear it must have sounded like "I owe da..." in Panther speak. Bravo you angry wordsmith you.

Stark raving mad!

In this video Pete Stark, Democrat from California, proceeds to lie, contradict and mock one of his constituents who dares question him about border security. In watching this vid you will see why there must be a major cleaning of our political house as well as term limits for our "public servants". If you are angered, appalled or even frightened by such arrogance, let this be the motivation to get engaged. This is your country and you need to pay attention and get involved. Most of all, you need to get out and vote. We are being threatened from without, and as this video will attest to, from within too. Our liberty, our security, our very way of life is at stake here. We must turn to God, our Constitution and our love of what is right. To choose integrity over corruption. To substance over symbolism. To truth over falsehood.

Late last week VP Joe Biden assailed a custard vendor after receiving a free ice cream cone. When the VP asked the cost of the frozen treat, he was told it was on the house. Then, the vendor kindly asked the second in command for a reduction in his/our taxes. In response, Biden then asks the vendor why he needs to be such a "smart ass". Well, that is the question I have here for Pete Stark. Possibly to be proceeded by "dumb ass", "lame ass", or just plain "ASS". I think that it is quite fitting and serendipitous that the symbol of the Democrat party is a donkey. And even though I am somewhat disenchanted with the Republican party at the moment, like their symbol the elephant, I will never forget.

Interacting with Liberals... A brief tutorial

I recently had the occasion to debate a liberal regarding the Helen Thomas remarks. Though the specific subject matter is of great importance to those who love Israel, it is not germane to this post.

Pick any topic and engage a liberal in the discussion of said topic, and you will notice that there are certain gyrations that they will go through. Because liberals are intellectually dishonest, they cannot compete in the arena of ideas. Therefore, there is a specific plan of attack that they usually follow to a T. I cannot say for sure that they all do it consciously. I think the true ideologues do, but the rank and file liberal does it... well, just because it is the nature of this particular beast.

The first thing that you may notice in the liberal assault is the lack of civility. This will permeate the bulk of the ensuing interaction. They may not curse or name call, but you will know that you are only at the beginning of a breathless filibuster. They will talk over you, not allowing a give and take of thoughts and ideas. I have witnessed this many times on FNC and talk radio where the liberal side cannot shut the pie hole long enough to let anyone else with a opposing view get a word in.

Next, is the diversion. This is where when the liberal stops to take that rare breath and you actually get to ask them a direct question. Yes or no. True or false. Agree or disagree. Since they can't be completely honest about their failed ideology, they will at this point change the subject or answer a question with a question. The really skilled liberals will change the subject by asking a question with a question. Two birds with one stone. You can try to bring them back to the original quip, but to no avail. They have already proceeded with rapid pace through 2 or 3 other irrelevant topics. Don't let this distract you. You will never get an honest answer to the original question, but that's okay. Yours is an exercise in exposition, while theirs is one of folly.

Thirdly, there is the straw man argument. This is when a liberal will speak in generalities and vaqaries. To make their case they will refer to mythical people or groups who are suffering under some policy or misuse of authority. Yet they almost never have any real proof or people to back up their accustions. I will concede that every once in awhile they will dig up someone(usually a child, they love exploiting them to further liberalism or demonizing conservatism)who has had some sort of misfortune befall them and turn it into a cause. Or worse yet, a law(can you say Obamacare?) But if you dig deeper to find out the particulars, the situation is not that dire or not even close to the way it is being portrayed by the liberal hucksters. Even if the truth is discovered regarding the "straw man" it will never be reported by the lamestream media.

Finally, and this is where it gets personal, the liberal, painted into a corner by his or her own web of lies and deceit and surrounded by overwhelming truth and facts, will begin the hurling of personal insults. You, your character, everything you hold dear will be subject to liberal ire. They may also frantically accuse you of doing the very same things they themselves are guilty of. Of course this is the last gasp of a frustrated liberal. They have nothing else to offer other than to personally attack you. If you are lucky it will descend into an incoherent rant which can sometimes provide a small degree of amusement. Never let this or any of the other ploys deter you from the subject at hand. Hold fast to your core beliefs and know who you are.

Now this is not meant to be a definitive accounting of the liberal bag of tricks. Yet these are the most popluar and the most employed(who would have thought liberal and employed could be used in the same sentence)principles of liberal debate that I have witnessed. But when truth is on your side, or more importantly, you are on the side of the truth, you cannot lose. Let this be your solace as you cannot and never will be able to reason with a liberal. And as a caution, when that final insult is hurled and you have wiped the dust from your feet to move on, do not let yourself be goaded into self vindication. For, you cannot answer a fool after his/her folly. It will only result in your sounding like the very fool you eschew. Turn and proceed. Walk resolutely towards the light of truth as the cackling of liberals fades into the distance for they will not follow. But, if they do, if they choose to follow... you have won a brother.

The perils and glories of Amendment I

As I was sitting here watching the nightly cable news and muddling over the usual ideological battles I had an epiphany of sorts. I thought, in a country that embraces freedom of speech and liberty(or atleast as it is stated in the Constitution), socialist and liberal progressive thoughts and ideas are allowed to be expressed and embraced. In fact, under this current regime it is being preached from the pulpit of the White House. Which only proves that in a free society an enemy to the very country who he or she represents can achieve high office. I know it sounds crazy and antithetical, but here we are. Not only is Barack Obama president, but there are hoards of congressmen and senators in elected office who are America haters as well. Who blame America first, no matter what.

Now, in a country where socialist, progressive liberalism were the order of the day and part of the tenets of that country's founding principles, antithetical thoughts and ideas would not have the same freedom to be expressed as are the liberal suppositions in a free society. It's quite ironic... and frustrating. But with freedom comes the freedom to fail or choose poorly as well as wisely. It's the same choice that God affords us everyday of our lives which only proves that God is love and not a dictator or totalitarian. Not so with liberals. They eschew the arena of ideas and any freedom of debate or descent especially when they are in power. The very liberty of expression they are afforded in a free society they would and will vehemently revoke from all who disagree.

Freedom is a hard thing, but it's the best thing. With rights come responsibility. Unfortunately, it seems that more people assert the former while fleeing from the latter. So the main objective would be to change peoples hearts. To find a way to get them to treasure their God given rights and to take seriously their God given responsibilities. So that eventually there would be more people embracing the total concept of free speech and free thought, rather than those who would place their "boot on the throat" of the First Amendment thus silencing it, and us altogether.

In the end, I guess what I am saying is that in a free society there will and should be descenters and their freedom to do so without fear of retribution should be preserved. But, in a liberal society that only holds disdain for descent from liberal thought, the very freedom that allowed them to attain their power would, by ideological necessity be abolished.

If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.

BP hires three experts in attempt to plug gulf spill

In all seriousness, this is a very tragic accident. The main focus should be to find the best solution as quickly as possible. Calling in lawyers, pointing fingers and promising retribution are all that this White House can muster thus far. Meanwhile, BP is trying to do all that it can to stop this geyser. I am not siding with "big oil" or "big government"(actually I never side with big government) in this case. There will be plenty of time to throw blame around, but for now resolve the problem and let the local government do all that it can to contain and clean up this mess.
And by the way, it is because of the environmentalist wackos and the politicians who bow to them, that we have to go far out to sea and drill down over one mile to find petroleum. Meanwhile there is plenty here on dry land all across this great country. Where, if such an accident were to occur it could easily be resolved without having to use remote submarines just to get a look at this devastation. Another flawed policy brought to you by liberals and their pinheaded logic.

The desire of my heart...

I Want To Be More Like Jesus
As each day passes by,
I feel my love run dry.
I get so weary, worn,
And tossed around in the storm.
Well I'm blind to others needs,
And I'm tired of planting seeds.
I seem to have a wealth,
Of so many thoughts about myself.
I want to, I need to, be more like Jesus.
I want to, I need to, be more like Him.
Our Father's will was done,
By giving us His Son,
Who paid the highest cost,
To point us to the cross.
And when I think of Him,
Taking on the whole world's sin,
I take one look at me,
Compared to what I'm called to be.
I want to, I need to, be more like Jesus.
I want to, I need to, be more like Him.
Remember, there's no greater love,
Then to lay down your life for a friend.
The end of all my prayers,
Is to care like my Lord cares.
My one and only goal,
His image in my soul.
Yes my weakness is revealed,
When by His stripes I'm healed.
He's faithful and He's true,
To complete the work he begins in you.

Wee Willie Webber RIP

Sunday, May 23, 2010
"Wee Willie" Webber has passed away

Bill Webber (via WHAT) Bill "Wee Willie" Webber, who at 6-foot-5 was one of the giants of broadcasting in the Philly area, died this morning of an apparent heart attack at age 80.

He had heart trouble of late, according to Gerry Wilkinson of the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia.

Philadelphians of a certain age grew up with the mellifluous Mr. Webber, whose rich career included Channel 6 (the morning kiddie show called Breakfast Time) and its "Famous 56" AM radio station before joining WIP as a middle-of-the-road DJ.

His was the voice that introduced American Bandstand in its Philadelphia incarnation. While at Channel 3 and at KYW, he spun the last record on KYW before it went all-news. Mr. Webber was let go from KYW TV to make way for Mike Douglas.

A Broadcast Pioneers bio notes that in 1965, just after his layoff, he became the first face on Channel 17. For 10 years, he hosted the "Wee Willie Webber Colorful Cartoon Club," and then moved to Channel 48.

From 1989 to 2005, he was on WPEN before its flip to sports talk. He'd been doing a late-morning show, Second Cup of Coffee, on WHAT (1340 AM).

Mr. Webber was chairman of the Broadcast Pioneers board. He is survived by his wife, Constance, and children Bill Jr. and Wendy.

BT comment: I regret that I am a week late in paying tribute to one of my childhood icons. Wee Willie Webber passed away last week at the ripe old age of 80. Hard to believe he was just a bit younger than I am now when I was watching him on television.

I can remember when we got the UHF converter box(the what?! man do I feel old) that sat atop our one dial, black and white TV. That little electronic wonder opened up a whole new world to me. The world of week day, afternoon cartoons. The local ringmaster of this new sensation was Wee Willie. On his show I was introduced to "Tobor the Eighth Man"(Tobor is robot spelled backwards as you guys already know), "Astro Boy" and then finally "Speed Racer". The trifecta of Japanese animation in the sixties. Then of course there was Wee Willie's Peanut Gallery where local kids could actually appear on his show. Looking back I remember one time when I did see someone that I knew in the Peanut Gallery. Then there was the time when I actually saw Wee Willie in person at a local synagogue with all of my childhood friends on my block where I grew up. As he entered the hall where we were all sitting I could see that Bill Webber was anything but "Wee". He stood 6'5" and had to duck under the doorway as he made his entrance. Now that would seem tall to me even now. But as a little kid, he was a giant. But not scary and ever the affable cartoon show host. There were contests(a group of kids were assembled to consume 10 Saltine crackers and the first one to whistle won)and prizes(not sure, but maybe some type of candy bar). Seeing him is one of my most vivid memories of my early youth.

Of course to adults he was better known as Bill Webber on the local AM radio station, 610WIP. Hearing him on the radio seemed incongruent to my own fondness for him and his kids TV show. Even now I cannot refer to him as Bill Webber. He was and always will be Wee Willie(I don't even have to finish with the last name Webber).

I guess every big city has or had it's icons on local TV. Maybe not so much now with the advent of cable television(goodbye UHF converter box). So with you, my peers, who came of age in the sixties and seventies in Philadelphia, I bid farwell to the man who seemed to understand us as kids. Who at 6'5" seemed a kid himself, and in entertaining us daily, gave us memories for a lifetime.

Happy Memorial Day and Let's Go Flyers

Memorial Day

To alot of people this is just a three day holiday weekend. The demarcation of summer's commencement. The time when it now is acceptable to again wear white. But for those who comprehend the cost of freedom and the ongoing struggle to defend and protect this gift from God, Memorial Day is a solemn reminder.

Jesus said that greater love have no man that he lay down his life for his friends. Of course he laid his life down for the whole world, including his enemies. In no wise do I compare the sacrifice of the Son of God to that of fallen soldiers. Atleast not in the eternal sense. Still, over the years men and women have laid down their lives for America and it's people. To defend the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Sacrificing even for those who would distort these rights and use the very freedom they were born into to destroy America from within. Unlike most of our current stock of elected officials, it is our military who I trust to uphold and defend our Constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic.

I did not enter the military service and was not compelled to as there was no draft at the time. Of course in my youth I was much less patriotic and had far less understanding or appreciation for my country. That it something that has come more with age, my conversion to Christ, and becoming educated as to America's special place in history and the world. I try not to deal in "what if's", but I like to think that if I knew then what I know now, that I would serve. Being 50+ I see why serving in the military is for those in their youth. With failing eyes and aching joints and all of the other conditions that befall a middle aged man, I appreciate that there are those amongst us who choose to use their talents, strength, and vitlality to serve us. To protect us. And to possibly lose their life in the process. These, my fellow citizens, are heroes in every sense of the word.

So as we get together with family and friends to drink a beer, eat a burger or just lay back and relax to enjoy a federally paid holiday, please take a moment to reflect and give thanks first to God that you were born an American. And then to remember those who serve and have served to keep America free. Finally, bless the memory of the fallen and live worthy of their sacrifice.

The willingness of America's veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.

Wake up!

Dear friends,
I would beseech you to listen to or watch Glenn Beck on the radio or Fox News Channel. He is not a fear monger or liar. He is reporting on the things that the mainstream media willfully chooses to ignore. Our money, our freedom, our future is being confiscated by the Obama regime, mostly under the radar without our even knowing how.
I am not a mind numbed robot, but a seeker of what is true and right. I love God and my country and the nation of Israel. It just so happens that this president, Barack Hussein Obama, hates Jehovah God, hates America as it was founded, and hates the apple of God's eye, Israel. BO is fundamentally transforming this country into something that we who love this country we were raised in do not or will not recognize. If he has his way, the UN will soon be dictating what you can and cannot do.
Resist anything that eludes to one world or global governance. We are individuals, we are free peoples, we are Americans. Let the rest of the world follow after a collective system if they like. But as for us, we are a unique and set apart nation.
God bless America. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Disclaimer: It may take you sometime to really get into hearing what is being submitted for your perusal on the Glenn Beck Show. It may be confusing, boring or infuriating. In the end, I have found it entertaining and informative. Your country is being taken from you and you won't know it until it is gone. It's kind of like "The Matrix". We are living in what we think or want reality to be. But, there are things going on in this country and the world at large, that defy and contradict the reality that we love and want. It is what Barack Obama proposed as "fundamentally transforming" this country. What you know, what you love, what you find as normal and comfortable is going away. Forever? I don't know. For now? Definitely. So I say to you... WAKE UP! Get informed. Find truth. Love that truth. And be courageous. If you choose not to be a part of this one world system you will need to hold fast to what you believe. The times ahead are not for the faint of heart.

Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
Pslams 33:20-22

Rock it

Went out and voted tonight. Not a big turnout by all indications, but still, it's something you can't take for granted. It's the next step towards the November elections of 2010. I regret the few times that I have not voted although it was long ago. It is what the Founding Fathers fought for and partly what our military fights for today. The right for us to elect a representative government. Of the people, by the people and for the people.
They say if you don't vote then don't complain about the government. Well, I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't vote that gripe about the government. Then again, some people just like to complain. At least on election day my complaints, my concerns, my voice, is given it's due. Admittedly, I am less informed about local politics mostly because I don't own a house or have any children. National politics is where it's at for me. But, as the saying goes "All politics is local". I never really understood that until recently. I now see how people's political ideology affects local government and how it is the micro to the macro of national politics. After all, liberal and conservative candidates nationally are both elected by millions of... us.
So as I left the polls tonight I felt grateful to God that I live in a country where you can vote somewhat peacefully(no, there where no Black Panthers there, still not as bad as the Taliban). Not full of myself that I was a good citizen for voting(maybe a little) but a sense of satisfaction and of duty fulfilled. I am reminded(especially in the last general election)by Rush Limbaugh that "elections have consequences". November 2010 will be an election of great consequence. May those who love liberty be well represented as they cast a vote for Freedom.

A little under the weather today...

Had numerous "home turf" moments today. Somebody must have slipped me a butt load of Turbolax. Feeling a bit better now and hoping tomorrow's not a replay.
