The Saint Valentine's Day massacre is the name given to the murder of seven people as part of a Prohibition Era conflict between two powerful criminal gangs in Chicago, Illinois, in 1929: the South Side Italian gang led by Al Capone and the North Side Irish gang led by Bugs Moran. Former members of the Egan's Rats gang were also suspected to have played a large role in the St. Valentine's Day massacre, assisting Capone.
BT Comment:Sometimes things seem to be tough for guys on Valentine's Day. Above is a case in point,so just try to remember that it could be worse. Atleast no one is pumping hot lead into your body as the last thing you see is a cold,hard concrete wall. Then again, for some that would be a welcome alternative of sweet relief compared to suffering the wrath of a disappointed lover. Thanks for nothing Hallmark. For using the free market that I love, to manipulate the populace into compulsory, highly inflated, over priced gift giving. That failure to comply on this one day automatically infers a lack of love. That once a year, Feb.14th could potentially be our own personal "massacre".
Men, try to love your woman everyday as if it were Valentine's Day. Then maybe someday, this day will seem like any other and it's influence therefore diminished. In the meantime, watch "Some Like It Hot" for a humorous,slightly embellished version of the the St. Valentine's Day massacre.
